A History of God’s Faithfulness
Founded in 1965
When a group of believers from Scottsville Baptist Church decided to start a church in the White Plains community on the Franklin Road, God had big plans. Read from this pamphlet about the original vision and purpose behind White Plains Baptist Church.
A Demonstration of Faith and Vision
A group of believers recognized the need for a church in the White Plains community and so they set it forth in action. The lot was paid for by the generous giving of those believers.
“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
Mark 11:24
Winning the Lost
It is never too early to begin a new work for the lost. With the growth of Scottsville in 1965, the evidence was there that a church could be established and a new body began.
“Behold, I am doing a new thing;
now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness
and rivers in the desert.”
Isaiah 43:19
Big Plans
From the beginning, it was their vision to see a church that provided full programming. From Sunday School and morning worship to prayer meetings and everything in between, the work we do now almost 60 years later is the vision of our founding members.
“For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and give you a future and a hope.”
Jeremiah 29:11
What can you do?
The most powerful part of change is being an actual part of bringing it into existence. The joys of such participation are so that no one should want to miss it.
“All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it.”
1 Corinthians 12:27
